I came to Burjeel Medical Center for the breast cancer treatment, 21/02/2024- 5/03/2024. When I visited Dr Sonia Otsmane for the first time she said that they did BRCA1, BRCA 2 to all patients of the hospital free of payment. I was very much surprised, because I knew for sure that such investigation in my case is absolutely useless. But if she liked to do if free it was no problem. As I knew later that investigation was cost me 21000 dirham ( about 5700 USD). That amount was debited from my deposit without notice and my consent. The investigation OncoType DX what is really useful for the treatment was not done. After the end of the treatment, my deposit remained 14 820 dirham (about 4000 USD). I asked to give me my refund, but they refused. It takes me about 4 months to get the refund back! There were a lot of different reasons! First when they make a mistake in SWIFT they asked me to wait, may be I would get my money! Then some bank refused to transfer my refund because bank's "internal rules". Then I was asked to provide my bank details in any other country and I did. But their bank again refused to transfer again because of "the internal rules"! Then I gave the bank details of the person who lived in UAE and who accompanied me during my stay in UAE. It took the hospital THREE weeks to transfer my refund inside the country!!! At last I got my refund 27/06/20024. This attitude towards patients is unacceptable!!! The incompetence of the doctor is surprising!!!
