I had gone to and was dissatisfied with two other uro-oncologists in Hyderabad following several years of treatment in Kuwait before Googling and finding Dr. Sanjai Addla at Apollo Hospital. Based his experience of more than 25 years (18+ years in applied research in the UK before returning to India), I went to Dr. Sanjai for my first appointment. Based on my tests and biopsies for 4th stage prostate cancer, Dr. Sanjai drafted up a ‘roadmap’ for me on a blank paper that outlined alternative treatments along with 3 options each. I immediately told my wife that THIS is my doctor based on his displayed understanding of my problem, and his long experience with this cancer. When leaving his office, I asked him why he had returned to India; he replied: to help patients like you. Over the last six months, I’ve been treated by Dr. Sanjai, follow his prescribed regimes to the letter, and expect to live out my life fully, as normal.
