Cure As I reflect on my journey battling triple-negative breast cancer, my heart overflows with gratitude for the remarkable care provided by Dr. Tripti Saxena and her extraordinary team of technicians, doctors and nurses at the International Oncology Cancer Institute at Fortis Hospital, Noida – Radiology Department. Facing a diagnosis of triple-negative breast cancer was an overwhelming experience, to say the least. I went through all treatment (Chemo & Surgery) and now I had to face radiation therapy. My heart was filled with fear and despair and my mind was full of questions. With the result papers from my previous treatment in my hand, me and my husband met Dr. Tripti for the first time beginning August 2023. The moment I entered Dr. Tripti’s cabin at the International Oncology Cancer Institute, all my fears were slowly and steadily overcome with a blanket of compassion, assurance, and guidance by Dr. Tripti. The line of treatment was explained to me and my husband in detail. All the questions that we had were patiently heard and answered. Her calm demeanor, thorough explanations, and genuine concern for my well-being put me at ease during what was undoubtedly one of the most challenging times of my life. This made me confident, and I developed a trust that I was in good hands. My first Radiation session started on 07-Aug-2023 and with each session, I could feel the collective strength of the medical team rallying behind me, infusing me with courage and resilience. The journey of beating Cancer was not smooth all the time and had its challenges. During these daily radiation sessions, I had minimal side effects except for the usual ones which Dr. Tripti forewarned me of diligently (e.g. swelling in the breast skin changes in the treated area similar to a sunburn like redness, skin peeling, darkening of the skin and fatigue) The 15 sessions of radiation went by in a blink of an eye and I successfully finished the course on 26-Aug-2023. So, looking back today I can say that radiation treatment which most cancer patients fear is very doable. Until now I undergo every 3 month a PET CT Scan to check on my overall health and if I am still in remission and I feel so safe under the supervision of Dr. Tripti who is my cheerleader – cheering me after each session and keep my morale always high.
